Wednesday's edition of Across The Trax: Blues in the Grooves with your lady of song, Nikki Armstrong

Professional Blueswoman  Nikki Armstrong delivers her electric live performance energy to Blues In The Grooves a new addition to the station’s legendary Wednesday Blues lineup. Blues In The Grooves is a diverse selection of Blues featuring local, regional and national Blues, Funk, Soul and R&B artists with a special focus on female performers. 

Nikki brings a remarkable array of talent and experience to her broadcast. Emerging from an early background as a model, dancer and actress, Nikki has established herself in the Metro area as a sought after singer and writer. She performs with several bands including, Whole Lotta Blues (Blues), The Nikki Armstrong Project (Jazz) and MAMA SPANX (Funk/Blues/Rock).

She has also been a featured or guest artist with Melvin Sparks and Les Paul. Nikki also hosts open jams for singers and musicians at Mexicali Blues Café in Teaneck, NJ and the Blend Bar in Ridgewood NJ as well as other venues.

Over the past four years Nikki has been the Musician’s Liaison for the New York Blues and Jazz Society. In that role, Nikki has coordinated numerous successful events at locales such as Birdland and Sirius Radio.

Nikki offers a special tip of the hat to Bob Putignano, president of the New York Blues and Jazz Society  and host of The Sounds of Blue for helping her move into the world of broadcasting.
