Emigrating from Austria in the late 1930s and arriving in the U S via U K (and Blitzkrieg) we settled in NY.

The picture---in case you are interested is yours truly while still in the land of Wienerschnitzel und Sacher Torte and before a fellow named Adolph decided he wanted a piece of the world and started in this area.  Better he should have had a piece of Sacher Torte and called it a day.

A lifelong love of "folk music" evolved after discovering The Weavers and later the politics and thoughts of Phil Ochs and realizing this country allows one to put down roots and the cake is not bad either.

. Further bonding happened when the Sloop Singers appeared at one of my birthday fests. At this point I must make mention of my wife and her arranging that. Also changing my life and focus. After that I produced 5 yrs of benefit concerts featuring Tom Chapin. A relationship with Ron Olesko ( of WFDU) came from that and years later I also came aboard the station and the program. Some 15 yrs (at this writing) have elapsed and I now host 2 programs --Sunday Simcha--(Jewish Themed Programming), and Traditions (with Ron Olesko). So--we all come down in the place just right (as the Shaker Hymn tells us)--in this case WFDU-=-The right place on the left side of the dial.

Until recently I had hosted Tabletalk in addition to the two programs mentioned.  Through these programs I have been able to meet and present to the audience some truly interesting people---to name a few examples

TABLETALK--   Phil Patton, author /  David Amram. composer and performer /Elizabeth Swados, writer/ Michael Oren, writer and historian, Larry Hochman, Bway musical arranger,

SUNDAY SIMCHA-- Mike Burstyn. performer / Zalman Mlotek, composer and producer, Joy Katzen Guthrie, composer and performer/  Theodore Bikel.

TRADITIONS-- Buskin and Batteau, Modern Man, Julie Gold, Gathering Time, Eric Bogle, Scott Ainslie, David Olney, Si Kahn.  These are only the tip of a very talented iceberg of artists.

Finally, the LISTENERS who, being integral to all the programs, have supported them in fine fashion and I can only hope they have gotten delivery of expectations as promised
